Yes, and I think the supermind is very much a result of advanced technology, especially information technology, which enables the surveillance state and passifies the population. Its destination looks like a combination of 1984 and Brave New World; I can't say that fills me with any sense of joy.

Can we, as neurons change the will of the state? Not all states are the same, is this a question of alignment? Also have you seen Megalopolis?

I have not seen Megalopolis. I've heard it's a giant mess. But perhaps that's why I should see it.

As far as changing the will of the state, I think the best course is to decrease the size of the supermind, so that the neurons we control make up a greater percentage of the total. Which is just a way of saying it's easier to make changes at the local level.

One interesting thing about our role as neurons in a giant supermind is that we are neurons in *multiple* entities at the same time, which sometimes limits the extent that any one entity dictates our behavior. I

I don’t think it makes sense to try and opt out of the egregores. Better to consciously try to balance their influence on us.
