I do think Shrier has the zeal of the ideologue, and in part that's why I included links to some critical reviews near the end. But I also feel that the pendulum has swung pretty far in one direction and sometimes the zeal of the ideologue is what's necessary to get it pushed back in the other direction. Also I've seen lots of kids suffering from what she describes. So while I think there is some crazy stuff in there, the ideas deserved something of a steelmanning, but I totally take your point.
